Remembering Charlie Huddy and Doug Weight, the newest members of Edmonton Oilers Hall of Fame

A year ago on this date, Edmonton Oilers announced the first two new inductees into their newly-created Oilers Hall of Fame. The club’s high bar for getting a number retired — admission to the Hockey Hall of Fame — would remain, but there would be a second level for important players whop made major contributions to the club. The nominating committee nailed it in Year One with the admission of heart-and-soul grinders  Lee Fogolin and  Ryan Smyth.
